Founder & Executive Director

Bio:
Alia Zaidi is the Founder and Executive Director of Spokane Inner Peace Park and the visionary behind Up and Atom Foundation 501(c)(3). Her work is driven by a deep commitment to blending science, creativity, mental well-being, and community connection into accessible, inclusive spaces.
Recognized as a 2026 Influential Woman, Alia is also a published writer and advocate whose work and commentary have explored trauma recovery, mental health, and community resilience. As a PTSD advocate with lived experience, she brings both empathy and urgency to her leadership—channeling personal challenges into solutions that support others.
The vision for Spokane Inner Peace Park grew from years of navigating seasonal depression with her children and observing the lack of year-round spaces where families of all backgrounds could learn, connect, and simply be together. SIPP is her love letter to Spokane: a place where Science, Imagination, Peace, and Play come together to support curiosity, healing, and belonging.
Through partnerships with local and national organizations, Alia is working to position Spokane Inner Peace Park as a scalable model for community-centered STEAM engagement and mental wellness—especially in regions that have historically lacked access to science and creative learning environments.
